 | | | | | | | Record of articles | | | 23-Sep-2009 · Special recognition of the Spanish Society of Acoustics for CESVA Instruments to mark their 40th Anniversary | The 40th National Acoustics Congress; TECNIACUSTICA Cadiz 2009, took place on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of September, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the Spanish Society of Acoustics (SEA) and the 40th anniversary of CESVA.
The opening ceremony was presided over by the Rector of the University of Cadiz; Prof. Diego Sales Márquez, accompanied, among others, by the President of the SPA and the FIA, Prof. Jorge Patricio; the President of the European Association of Acoustics, Prof. Luigi Maffeidel and the President and the Secretary General of the SEA; Mr Antonio Pérez López, and Prof. Antonio Calvo-Manzano.
During the ceremony the Spanish Society of Acoustics presented CESVA Instruments with a commemorative plaque to mark the 40th anniversary of their founding, and in recognition of their distinguished contribution to the development of acoustics instruments.
Prof. Sales presented the plaque on behalf of the SEA, to CESVA Instruments’ General Manager Mr Joan Casamajó who accepted it on behalf of all those whose hard work has contributed and continues daily to contribute to bringing CESVA to its 40th anniversary. In particular he paid tribute to the work of Joan Casamajó i Saleta the recently deceased President and co-founder of the company.
Mr. Casamajó congratulated the SEA on their 40th anniversary, and thanked them for the vital work they carry out in acoustics, underlining the importance of their work in Spain and around the world, without which Spanish acoustics would not occupy the privileged position it currently enjoys.
He also thanked all CESVA’s customers for the trust they have shown in our brand and products, as well as the distributors for their collaboration, pointing out that without their help it would have been impossible to reach our 40th anniversary. Finally he said, “The most important thing is not the age of the company, but the people who have helped us reach it”.
